The Letter Never Sent is a collection of letters written by Korean adoptees to their birth parents and is published in both English and Korean languages. IECEF published the first edition in August of 2004 and distributed it at the 3rd Korean Adoptee Gathering that was held in Seoul 2004. The second book has published in Feburary.

By publishing The Letter Never Sent, IECEF hopes to provide an additional unique space for adoptees to share their writing, and to express their thoughts, experiences, and feelings as they relate to birth family. Ultimately, we hope the book will be helpful to adoptees that are searching for their birth families. We also believe in the importance of challenging the secrecy and social stigma that has traditionally been attached to adoption. We hope that by doing this, it will eventually lead to more open discussion about adoption in Korean society and we believe that there is a critical role Korean adoptees can play in this effort.

¡°Although I¡¯m not a child any more, I still carry some of the same things with me that come from the circumstances of my existence. I have gone through quite an evolution from the time of my birth to the present time. You held me in your arms briefly and then decided that although I could reside in your heart and maybe your memory, I could not reside with you physically¡¦¡±

¡°¡¦if you are not in a position to come forward, I am hopeful you read this letter and are able to have peace. You have to worry no more. Your two daughters are healthy, thriving and doing well.¡±
