A homestay is an excellent opportunity to experience Korean family life and culture. Korean host families are excited to share Korean culture with you as well as learn about you and your culture. The length of time that an adoptee can stay with a host family varies; some families can commit to a just a short time, while others are willing to make a long-term stay commitment. When applying to the homestay program, please specify the duration that you would like to stay with a host family and IECEF will try to accommodate your request.
IECEF works hard to select the best possible host families. Each family is interviewed and screened by an IECEF staff member. Once a family is selected, we try to make a match with an applicant who has similar interests.
Host families¡¯ accommodations are evaluated for their location, cleanliness, and safety. Host family applicants are volunteers; there is no charge to adoptees for room and board. Each applicant will have her/his own room. Host families will provide daily meals, assistance with local transportation, and guidance with Korean society. |
